Find Duplicate Assignments

Despite best efforts, sometimes the same person is given the same assignment on the same date more than once. This tool helps you locate and remove those duplicated assignments.

Steps in this task

1. Click on the Find duplicate assignments link from the Administrator tools panel on the VSys main page.
   
2. Enter your criteria at the top. Only assignments during this time period, in the locations and jobs you specify, will be considered. To work with just recurring assignment details, or just non-recurring assignments, change Recurring to Not recurring or Only recurring.
3. Click on Get records. VSys will then display only those records which are in conflict with another assignment.

The assignments shown here are the ones that VSys proposes to delete. This means that for every assignment you see here, there is an assignment which is not shown, and which will not be deleted.

1. Make any changes to the assignments here, or right-click on them to delete in bulk.
2. Click Save to save your changes, which affects the assignments that you've edited or deleted here.

To determine which of two or more duplicated assignments should be kept, VSys will always keep the one whose hours have been credited. In fact, if there are three duplicates and two have their hours credited, VSys will only show here the third, uncredited assignment.
