The main benefit to using custom applications with VSys Web is that your volunteers can input and update their own data. Rather than having them fill out paper forms and having your office staff input or update the information, the volunteer can do it himself. When you synchronize between VSys and VSys Web can choose to have it update their information in VSys or not. Volunteers using VSys Web cannot see their existing information in the web interface, though: when they use a custom application form it's always blank since VSys Web is not directly connected to your database.
