Slot Calendars Report

Slot calendar reports are similar to Assignment Calendars (RTF) reports in that they don't produce a printed report: instead they become an RTF file which you can open and print in Microsoft Word. Why? This gives great flexibility in allowing report rows to cross page boundaries and for later editing instead of rows which can get cut off, or which take up more space than they need to. This version does not do that, instead it grows and shrinks each row as needed for them to fit their data.

  1. Click on the Slot calendars link from the Reports panel, either globally or within a project.
  2. Choose the fields to be printed: Start time, Duration, Finish, Job, Job group, Project, Location, Supervisor, Comments, Count required, Count assigned and Count needed.
  3. Select how the calendars should page break.
  4. Filter on Slot states: Empty, Partially filled, Filled or Overfilled.
  5. Select the calendar style, Weekly view or Monthly view and the font size used in each calendar cell.
  6. Choose first and last slot dates to show, as well as any filters on slot start time.
  7. If running this report globally (from outside a project), check Include project slots to also include slots made from within projects. Running this report within a project will only include slots for that project.
  8. Set any jobs and locations filters for your slots. Note: these filters are not available if you run this report globally and check Include project slots, since the locations and jobs will vary from project to project.
  9. Choose to run the report in landscape (wide) mode or portrait (tall).
  10. Select a file to create: remember that VSys makes an RTF file here, not a printed document.
  11. Click Run to run the report.

Use the links to open the file, e-mail it directly, or delete it. Opening the file brings it up in Microsoft Word if you have that installed on your machine.
